Where The Name Came From
"Sgt Papi" wasn't something I came up with at a desk trying to build a personal brand.
It was given to me — by the guys I worked with when I was a Marine recruiter working the radio. I was a Sgt at the time (I'd later get promoted to Staff Sergeant), I was already a new dad, and it fit. The name was obvious to everyone around me before it was obvious to me.
I kept it. Because I'm a marketer, and I knew it was good.
How I Got Here
I've been playing with computers since the early 1990s. Started on a Tandy 1000 — MS-DOS, Windows Commander, Menu Commander, and then Windows 3.0. I was the kid who wanted to know how everything worked.
I've been getting paid to do marketing since 2003. That's over 20 years of figuring out what actually moves people to take action — from early-era digital, through every platform shift, all the way to where we are now with AI changing the game again.
Today I run Miami Marketer, a marketing agency based in South Florida. We build funnels, automations, and systems for businesses — mostly on GoHighLevel. I've worked with 50+ clients across industries, built campaigns for recognizable names, and spent the last few years wiring AI into everything we do.
The Family Side
I have three sons. Two of them are adults now. One just enlisted in the Marines, which is one of the proudest moments of my life — he made his own choice, walked his own path. My youngest is on the autism spectrum, high functioning, and he is one of the most remarkable people I know. He sees the world in a way that genuinely makes me think differently.
I'm divorced. That chapter taught me more than I wanted to learn at the time, and I'm genuinely grateful for every lesson. I'm now in a really positive relationship and I can honestly say I'm a better man for having gone through everything I went through.
Being a present father while running a business is something I think about constantly. I don't have perfect answers — just honest ones.
Why This Blog
I've always wanted a place to share what I actually know — unfiltered. Not a brand page. Not a funnel disguised as content. Just a real blog where I can say what I think.
Think of it as my own version of Lifehacker — but built around the stuff that actually matters to men in their 30s and 40s who are trying to build a real life. I cover three things:
Love — Fatherhood, relationships, what I've learned from divorce, and what it takes to be the kind of man your kids actually look up to.
Money — Building a business, using AI to outwork your competition, and everything I've figured out about working smart over the past two-plus decades.
Health — Staying consistent when life is relentless. Training, mindset, and the habits that make everything else possible.
I also do product and service reviews. If you've got something worth talking about, I'll try it and tell you exactly what I think.
Work With Me
I'm open to partnerships with brands that are building something real. Product reviews, sponsorships, endorsements, travel and experience content — if it's a fit, let's talk.
